Capacity-Building Programme
Kenya is a strong supporter of the 2005 Convention and joins many countries in the region pursuing different initiatives aimed at translating the Convention’s articles and principles into national policies and programmes. To support this KNDI through ATRI-PLC programme shall engage in 8-year Capacity-Building Programme by 2030. The Programme targets key areas requiring specialized technical support, developing tailor-made solutions that meet national needs and contexts. It aims at engaging in partnerships, information exchange, and the establishment of a network of local experts in building up national technical and institutional capacity to boost the scaling up of nutrition in in Kenya.
The Programme will focus around five key pillars:
1. Training professionals and key stakeholders in health Sector
The Capacity-Building Programme reinforced the technical knowledge and capacities of government stakeholders working directly or by proxy in nutrition and dietetics area. The target shall include a series of technical trainings that would empower such leaders to integrate nutrition in health sector.
2. Identifying a new generation of local experts and strengthening their expertise
This shall encompass mentorship programme for varied expertise in nutrition specific and sensitive matters in health and agriculture.
3. Knowledge exchange, analysis and information-sharing platform
This will focus on nutrition and dietetics knowledge management and sharing in broad fields of practice.
